The golf season is underway. As you read this column, the seniors will have had their first week of meeting new golfers and renewing old friendships.

The seniors have a unique Monday morning ritual; they meet for breakfast once a month and then play golf, the rest of the Mondays they play their team golf. Some of the seniors only play nine holes while the rest play 18.

The ladies have had their opening meeting and at that time they have set their schedule for the year. Unfortunately this column had to be ready by Friday for printing today so we will follow up next week with their schedule.

The Tuesday men's league will have its final team registration today and start the regular league schedule next week.

The club is hosting a two man best-ball scramble May 17-18. The fee is $100 per member team and $180 for non-member teams. The format runs best ball Saturday and scramble Sunday. If you would like to register, please call the proshop at 433-4951 or drop in.

Those golfers who like to practise a lot can buy buckets of balls or buy a membership for the driving range only. Check with the pro shop.

Membership in the has some unique perks. For instance, you can play the Westfield Golf Club once a month, May through September, preferably weekdays, free of charge. You can play Amherst Golf Club once during the season at no charge as well. Members can also play Petitcodiac Valley Golf Club for a daily fee of $20. These are very interesting offerings for our membership especially when you consider our dues structure that is very attractive for the calibre of our golf course.

The pro shop is very well stocked with a lot of new equipment. Brent McKay, our golf professional, is available for golf lessons; reservations may be made by calling the pro shop. We welcome George Myers as our newest staff in the pro shop and we feel he will be a good addition for Brent.

Drop in and visit our premises and golf course. Have a nice week and see you next Tuesday.
