Medal haul for NBers at STARSkate nationals

BRAMPTON, Ont. -

Skate Canada New Brunswick is pleased to report the results of its skaters at the 2008 HomeSense National STARSkate Championships from April 2-6, 2008.

Team NB members earned their berth to national competition based on their results at the 2008 Skate Canada New Brunswick Provincial STARSkate Competition in Oromocto Feb. 29 to March 2.

Ashton LeClair and Brooke Carten of the Oromocto Skating Club earned a silver medal in gold dance biathlon.

Bronze medals went to Michael Page of the Miramichi Figure Skating Club in bronze men triathlon and the team of Kelly Ridgway and Hannah Sawyer of the Saint John Figure Skating Club in bronze dance biathlon. Ridgway was fifth in bronze women triathlon. Ridgway and Sawyer's coaches are Kim and Kaitlynn MacVey of Kennebecasis Valley.

Victoria Snow of the Nashwaaksis Figure Skating Club placed 12th in gold women triathlon while Nicole Wolno of the Quispamsis Figure Skating Club was 13th in silver women triathlon.

New Brunswick have had an exceptional year posting the New Brunswick's best results nationally from Kelsey MacNeil winning the junior women event to Jackson Wood setting a new Canadian record for novice men and Melissa Briggs winning a silver medal in novice women and now three more national medals.
