
Santa comes Dec. 6

SUSSEX - With the theme "White Christmas," the Sussex Santa Claus Parade begins Saturday, Dec. 6 at 6:30 p.m. and travels from Princess Louise Park to Wal-Mart.
The human services committee of Sussex council presented the final parade plans at council's Nov. 24 meeting.
During the parade, the Kiwanis Club will conduct a food drive among parade-goers for the Sussex Sharing Club. Canada Post will have letter carriers walking the route collecting letters to Santa from children.
Kings East MLA Bruce Northrup and representatives from the Seniors Resource Centre and Youth Advisory Committee will judge the parade.
Certificates and plaques will be awarded for Best Theme Float, Best Christmas Spirit, Best Youth Entry, Best Commercial, Best Non-commercial and Best Band.
Following the parade, there will be free coffee and hot chocolate served by Santa's elves in front of Wal-Mart. The elves will be collecting donations for Sussex Vale Transition House.
