Look sharp, Sussex. You’re about to get Google-ized.

Sussex council has agreed to spend up to $3,500 for an imagery survey of Sussex that will, among other things, provide some much-anticipated detail of the town when viewed on the Google Earth virtual globe program.

The photography will be completed by Leading Edge Geomatics Ltd., said works committee chair Stephen Campbell.

The New Brunswick company, which opened in April, provides high-resolution aerial photographs useful in municipal planning, Campbell added.

Deputy Mayor Marc Thorne commented it was important to ensure the imagery will be available on the town’s website (www.sussex.ca).

The new company’s website (www.legeo.ca) indicates that only a month into its operations it was asked to bring its aerial survey equipment and aircraft back to New Brunswick from an Ontario project to document, for the provincial government, the St. John River flood crisis in May.
