Jubilee a full weekend of music

GAGETOWN -

The fourth annual Gagetown Village Jubilee will be held July 18-20 at the Queens County Fair grounds in the village of Gagetown.

Bluegrass, country, Celtic and gospel music are featured. Many popular performers from previous years, like Roger Lanteigne of Bathurst, and the homegrown talents of 3 Point Hitch, will perform on the outdoor stage along with visiting musicians, The Freddy Clarke Family, from Rocky Mountain, Virgina.

Events kick off Friday with music from 6:30-9:30 p.m. The official opening at 7:15 p.m. will feature the pipe band The Thoms from Saint John, and Lt. Gov. Herménégilde Chiasson, MP Greg Thompson, and other dignitaries have been invited to attend. Performances begin again at 1 p.m. Saturday until 9:35 p.m. There is an open mike and jam session Sunday, 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., and entertainment to follow until 4:30 p.m.

The jubilee will take place rain or shine, with a covered grandstand and canopies available. Trailer hookups and rough camping facilities ($10 per day) are also available as well as free parking and handicapped parking, first aid and jamming halls. Spectators can bring lawn chairs for seating close to the stage.

Admission is $30 for a weekend pass; $15 for Saturday all day, or $10 for each evening or Saturday afternoon only.
