Zachary Branscombe scored the highest overall average in Entomology and Pathology at the Maritime College of Forest Technology in Fredericton this year. For his efforts, he was given the Nature Conservancy of Canada award during his April 19 graduation ceremony. Branscombe is from Wards Creek, and is a Sussex Regional High School graduate. His extracurricular activities at college included treasurer of the MCFT Student Council and membership on the MCFT Woodsmen Team. He represented New Brunswick's Archery Team at the 2007 Canada Games, and is currently working with the Canadian Forestry Service based in Halifax. He plans to become a conservation officer.
