PRAGUE, Czech Republic - Czech cyclist Ondrej Sosenka tested positive for methamphetamine at the national championships in June, Czech media reported Friday.

The 32-year-old Sosenka was suspended by his team PSK Whirlpool-Author, which said it will fire the rider if the "B" sample confirms the result.

"Ondrej Sosenka has seriously violated the rules but first of all he has harmed himself because this will likely be the end of his career," team manager Vladimir Vavra said in a statement sent to the local CTK news agency.

In 2005, Sosenka set the world record for distance covered in one hour, with 49.7 kilometres at the Krylatskoye track in Moscow.
