Man arrested in Hamburg, Germany, in stabbing death of his sister, 16

HAMBURG, Germany - German police say a man has been arrested on suspicion of fatally stabbing his 16-year-old sister.

Andreas Schoepflin, a police spokesman in Hamburg, says the 23-year-old man told officers during initial questioning Friday that he killed his sister. He says it appears the girl "led a different life from the one her family wanted." The German family is of Afghan origin.

Officers say the girl was attacked late Thursday night.

Her brother was arrested about 12 hours later after police received a tip from an acquaintance.
