Whether dressed in outdoor work clothes or suits and ties, Darlings Island residents had to rely on this Zodiac, accompanied by a Department of Natural Resources officer, to get home after the flooding Kennebecasis River cut off bridge access the morning May 2. Police and DNR officials closed the road at 7 a.m., allowing island residents to drive off the island and park onshore, but shuttling them home by boat throughout the day.
